The Digital BA310 biological high performance microscope combines uncompromised optical clarity thanks to its
integrated CCIS® (Color Corrected Infinity System) optical system with an integrated high resolution CMOS
camera. The Digital BA310 has the exactly the same optical and mechanical specifications as the BA310 microscope.
See all options available on the Digital BA310 Microscope Systems Diagram. A complete
range of eyepieces and objectives are available to configure the Digital BA310
for your application. (CMOS and photo adapters are not available for the Digital BA310 due to the integrated camera).
The Motic® Digital BA310 is designed for the rigors of daily routine work in the demanding applications of Professional
Cytology, Hematology and Pathology laboratory settings. The Motic® Color Corrected Infinity Optics(CCIS®) with newly
designed EF-N Plan objectives provides high resolution and excellent optical performance for all microscopy needs.
The Digital BA310 is upgradeable to include additional contrast methods. These features ensure this model will offer long
term functionality to all user levels in a variety of applications.
The Digital BA310 is a superior microscope meeting the rugged demands for daily work needs in a Professional laboratory
setting. The Digital BA310's 30W illumination provides the user with a powerful and adjustable light source to meet both
delicate and detailed lighting requirements for all sample types. The fully featured Koehler illumination of the
Digital BA310 helps in highlighting even the weakest stained specimens.
The Motic® Color Corrected Infinity Optics CCIS® and the EF-N Plan Achromat objectives provide optimal image
contrast through newly designed multi-layer lens coatings. The fully corrected tube lens and subsequent intermediate
image without color fringing is now fully accessible through both eyepiece and the trinocular port making digital
images as crisp and clear as those seen through the eyepieces. The Digital BA310's large, hard coated and chemical resistant
stage, with an expansive 76x50mm travel range, includes a new slide holder with improved tighter grip. This ensures
easy and repeatable scanning of numerous slides in all daily routines. A complete range of options and accessories
are available to configure the Digital BA310 to your application. All options are shown in the Digital BA310 microscope systems diagram.

Siedentopf Observation Tube
The Digital BA310's sidentopf observation tube is designed with an ergonomic viewing angle of 30° and
incorporating an interpupillary distance of 55-75mm. The Digital BA310's observation tubes guarantee fatigue
free viewing for hours. An optional large field of view (20mm) enables fast and comfortable screening
of a specimen.
|
|
Eyepieces
The standard eyepieces are made of high quality optical glass and have a high-eyepoint for
eyeglass wearers. The eyepieces provide consistent diopter adjustments for both eyes. This
enables perfect usage of reticles for measuring, counting, etc. Standard lockable eyepieces
guard against inadmissible removal.
|
|
Reversed Quintuple Turret Revolving Nosepiece
The Digital BA310 has the capability for mounting up to five quality objectives, allowing easy access
to the slide. Precision positive click-stop mechanism ensures precise alignment of objectives.
|
|
Objectives
To improve overall optical performance of the Digital BA310, Motic® introduces a newly designed generation
of Plan Achromatic Objectives made of high quality optical glass: CCIS® EF-N Plan. These new lenses
are now multilayer coated for improved contrast to enhance images even with weak slide staining.
Together with a newly calculated tube lens, the result is a fully coated, perfected intermediate
image without colored fringes. RMS thread.
|
Fine/Coarse Coaxial Focusing
Coaxial course and fine focusing mechanism is precision brass manufactured using a reliable triangular rail system,
with adjustable tension, providing durable operation of the microscope. The focusing range is 25mm with minimum increments
of 2µm.
|
Condenser
To ensure the best possible illumination quality, the Digital BA310 has a full Koehler feature giving complete
freedom to set the height of the condenser, so counting chambers with unusual height dimensions can be used.
|
|
Illumination
The Digital BA310 introduces a new collector lens assembly with a secure, threaded holder for
the frequently used blue daylight filter, which is an integral part of the illumination
package. The fixed cap prevents the filter from dropping and breaking when the instrument
is moved or stored.
|
|
Mechanical Stage
The Digital BA310 offers an optional left/right hand control and the slide holder enables
consistent sample movement across a 76x50mm range with a stage of 175mm x 145mm.
The Digital BA310 also offers a hard coated surface, resistant against routine usage abrasion
and most lab chemicals.
|
Light source with integrated power supply
The universal power supply (110-240V) is integrated inside the frame for increased stability.
The 6V/30W halogen lamp with intensity controls provides bright and even illumination at any
magnification.
|
Anti-Fungus Coating
To protect the system from fungus formation in high-humidity environments, an anti-fungus
coating is used to prolong the life of both microscope and objectives.
|
Simple Phase Contrast
Offered as an option, simple phase contrast is available for magnification 10x and 40x.
|
Phase Contrast
Also available is the 5-position turret type phase contrast condenser and CCIS® phase plan objectives.
|
Simple Darkfield
Darkfield is possible with a separate DF slider.
|
|
Simple Polarization
Convenient and simple, the Digital BA310 polarization system consists of an analyzer filter
placed between the head and body; and a polarizer filter placed on top of the
collector lens.
|
Documentation
The importance of documentation has expanded into every aspect of microscopy, as has the method of documentation.
3.0 Mega Pixel digital CMOS camera
The 3.0 Mega Pixel digital 1/2" CMOS camera has an image resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, fast 480MB/sec
data transfer over USB 2.0 port and comes complete with Motic® Image Plus 2.0 software

BA310 Dimensions (unit: mm)
Key Improvements on Digital BA310
- The WF10x/20 eyepieces are non-compensated, removing the yellow fringe.
- A Siedentopf Head with chromatic compensated tube lens, therefore the image at the
trinocular port is also compensated.
- New lead free and multi-layer coating EF-N Plan objectives with a new sleeve.
- New capabilities for stage movement either with the right or left hand.
- A new stage with a new slide holder. The slide holder for the Digital BA310 has a wider slide
holder fixing screw distance to fix the holder firmer. There is also a smoother surface paint
and finish to improve scratch resistance.
- Has removed the stage position lock. This improves flexibility to view specimens contained
in different kinds of sample holders.
- A newly designed condenser.
- Now comes with a condenser position lock for fixed-Koehler illumination for optimal light intensity.
- A new stage and condenser support assembly to increase the movement range for the condenser.
The upper position of the condenser can be adjusted to within 1mm from the specimen to avoid
formation of the ground glass image on the image plane. It also prevents the left hand control
knob from getting too close to the condenser focusing knob and interfering with its operation.
- A newly designed coarse focusing knob mechanism.
- A new collector with a filter lock. The blue filter can be fixed onto the collector lens by
a screw cap to protect the filter from being removed or dropped and broken during system movement.
- A new lamp module for increased light intensity and improved heat dispersion.
- A newly designed arm stand with new rubber feet. The new rubber feet are made of softer material
to reduce vibration from the work environment.
- A new white body color giving a better impression as professional laboratory equipment with
model name and a new logo.
- A new ISO adapter with a 38mm diameter.
- Many accessories are compatible with the new Digital BA310 including 2.5x and 4x photoeyepieces, a
turret phase condenser, CCIS® PL PH objective, centering telescope, phases sliders, darkfield sliders,
polarizer and analyzer.
