Cross-Sectional Holder

3.2mm pin (1/8") and flat point to allow easy angle changes. Insert specimens edge-on and observe the break directly. Accommodates sample thickness up to 6.35mm (1/4"). Non-magnetic stainless steel. Overall height is 30mm (1.2") from the pivot point. The clamping part is a 16mm (0.62") cube w/o thumb screws.

Compact Variable Tilt Mount

This compact variable tilt specimen mount allows for easy mounting and tilting small samples from 0° – 90° and SEM investigation with small working distances. Markings for 30°, 45°, 70° and 90°. Table size is 11x14mm (0.46" x 0.55"). Overall size is 14 x 14.3 x14.5mm (0.55" x 0.56" x 0.57"). Made of aluminum with stainless steel screw. Allen wrench included.

Variable Tilt Specimen Holder

Tilt Mount

This tilt specimen mount allows for easy mounting and tilting of small samples from 0° – 70°. It has index angle markings, with maximum 70° stop for EBSD. Specimen platform is 12.7mm (0.50" in diameter). Overall height is 12.7mm (0.50").  Made of aluminum with stainless steel screw. Allen wrench included.

NEW Fiber Holder, Pin Stub

This spring-closing vise mount allows for easy clamping and tilting of small rod or fiber samples up to 3mm (0.12") in diameter, It has a tilt range from 0° – 90° with index angle markings. Specimen platform is 12.7mm (0.50" in diameter), clamp is ~19mm (0.75")  long and the fixture has an overall height is approximately 19mm (0.75"). Made of aluminum and stainless steel.

Multi Holder for 49 Pin Stubs

Multi Holders for Smaller Diameter Pin Stubs

The 25mm diameter holder (#16142-25P) can accommodate up to four Small Diameter Pin Stubs, and the larger 32mm diameter (#16142-32P) holder can accommodate up to six. Ideal for desktop SEMs, where holder size can be limited, to enable loading more samples at once. Square PELCO^® Q Multi Pin Stub Holders with 1/8" mounting pin enable easier location of the pin stubs with X-Y stage movements. The 4 and 8 stub holders use M3 set screws to secure pin stubs. The 16, 24, 36 and 48 stub holders have a unique spring assisted holding design to securely hold pin stubs. They have a notch for indexing and lines for alignment when using the square PELCO® Q Pin Stubs. Available for 4, 8, 16, 24, 36 and 48 of the 12.7mm (1/2") pin stubs. The multi holders for 8 or more pin stubs are also compatible with a lower number of 25.4mm (1") pin stubs or a mixture of 12.7 and 25.4mm pin stubs.

Small Springloaded Vise Clamp

Small Springloaded vise clamp for samples up to 12.7mm (1/2"). The jaws are 25mm (1") wide. Jaws also accommodate 1/16 x 1/2" stainless steel pins for more awkward shaped samples. 4 pins are included. Removable pushrod for easy loading is provided. Springloaded Vise Clamp

Springloaded vise clamp for samples up to 26mm. The jaws are 25mm (1") wide. Jaws also accommodate 1/16" x 1/2" stainless steel pins for more awkward shaped samples. 4 pins are included. Universal Springloaded Vise

Springloaded vise clamp with reversible jaws for an opening up to 38mm. The universal jaws have special slots to firmly hold round samples of various diameters both horizontally and vertically. Maximum width of the jaws is 32mm. Material: machined aluminum with stainless steel springs, rods, screws, washers, and brass sliders. Overall size of the vise clamp w/o pin is 67 x 52 x 20mm (2.64 x 2 x 0.8").

PELCO^® Large Universal Vise Clamp

The large and extremely versatile vise clamp is intended for large and heady samples or awkwardly shaped samples. Will clamp samples between 0-90mm. The two bases move 0-25mm. The array of holes take precision stainless steel 1/16" pins (10 pins are included) for either clamping the sample or for positioning the vise clamps (included). Each base has 9 positions for the vise clamp to enable optimum holding of samples up to 90mm. Overall size is 40W x 90L x 25mmH (1.6" x 3.5" x 1"). Standard 3.2mm (1/8") pin with 9.5mm (3/8") length.

PELCO^® Bar Clamp Vise, 4", 6" and 8"

The PELCO^® Bar Clamp Vise is available in three lengths; 102mm (4"), 152mm (6") and 203mm (8") with the same clamps for each version. This bar type clamp can accommodate specimens up to 72mm (3"), 127mm (5") and 178mm (7") in length respectively. The jaws are reversible, offering different clamping options and they operate independently anywhere on the clamping bar. This will allow for positioning the region of interest of the specimen within the travel range of the SEM stage. Stainless steel 1/16" pins (6 pins are included) can be placed on the clamps for awkwardly shaped samples. Clamping bars and clamps can be purchased additionally to make up the best functional set for the job at hand. Made of vacuum grade aluminum with brass bar and brass thumbscrews and stainless steel type 316 dowels. Standard 3.2mm (1/8") pin with 9.5mm (3/8") length.

NEW PELCO^® Single 1/2" FIB Sample & Grid Holder

The PELCO^® Single FIB Sample and Grid Holder holds a FIB sample mounted on a pin stub for FIB milling and lift-out procedures. It also holds two FIB grids conveniently close to the sample to mount and prepare TEM lamellae on the FIB grid for subsequent TEM imaging.

There are two height options: standard and low profile. The standard height comes with a #16111 pin stub and the pin length of the mount is 9.5mm (3/8") while the low profile comes with a #16176 pin stub and the pin length of the mount is 6.5mm (1/4"). The low profile holder is primarily for systems that require shorter pin mounts and/or sample heights.  This compact and cost effective holder is suitable for all FIB/SEM systems which accept pin mount holders, such as the Thermo Fisher/FEI, ZEISS and TESCAN systems. For the JEOL and Hitachi systems a pin mount adapter is needed.

The standard height (#15467) is made of vacuum grade aluminum with brass screws. Philips screwdriver #0 included. Overall size of 15467 is 22.4 x 12.7 x 11.7mm (0.88 x 0.5 x 0.46"). Pin is 3.2mm (1/8") diameter x 9mm (3/8") length.

PELCO^® Fortress FIB Holder™ & Sample Loader

The PELCO^® Fortress FIB Holder™ is used for TEM sample preparation and storage. The PELCO^® Fortress FIB Holder™ is the former South Bay Technology Fortress FIB Holder. FIB lift-out grids are clamped securely in place by a tensioned spring without the need for adhesives. Sample loading is easy when the PELCO^® Fortress FIB Holder™ is paired with the Sample Loader. Paired with a pin stub desiccator or other pin stub storage container, the PELCO^® Fortress FIB Holder™ securely stores FIB grids with lamella attached. This holder is suitable for all FIB/SEM systems which accept pin mount holders such as Thermo Fisher Scientific/FEI, ZEISS and Tescan systems. E-Beam Lithography Mount

The E-Beam Lithography Mount comprises:
- 2 ea PELCO SEMClips™ to hold the sample
- a Faraday (ø2.5mm with 100µm hole) cup to measure the beam current
- and a gold on carbon resolution sample (ø3mm) for resolution test
All mounted on a 25mm aluminum pin stub, positioned in such a way as to leave maximum sample space. The height of the gold on carbon test specimen is approximately 0.5mm above the surface of the mount. The Gold on Carbon is similar to #617 with gold particle size range from approx. 5nm to 150nm. TEM Grid Holder on Pin

This TEM grid holder holds up to 4 TEM grids. It enables imaging and analyzing specimens on TEM grids in the SEM. For EDS applications it is beneficial to place thin films on a TEM grid or small particles on a TEM grid with a support film. This can significantly reduce background in the EDS spectrum and increase detection limits of the EDS detector. Hole size in the top and base is ø2.1mm. Opening angle on the holes in the top and base is 120° to reduce electron scattering and improve X-ray collection. Overall diameter is 18mm (0.7"), standard 3.2mm (1/8") pin with a 15mm (0.6") long pin. The longer pin allows for a larger distance from the SEM stage pin holder and therefore greatly reduces electron and X-ray scattering contribution for the SEM stage. TEM grid locations are numbered. Material: vacuum grade aluminum with brass screw.

TEM 4 Grid Holder for SEM

This low profile TEM grid holder holds up to 4 TEM grids. Thin copper spring clips hold the grids in place, providing a wider viewing angle suitable for both imaging and spectroscopy of samples on grids in SEM. It is often beneficial for films or small particle samples to be placed on a TEM grid with a support film. This can significantly decrease the background in an EDS spectrum, and improve the detection limit. The holder has a short 6mm pin. It is 25.3mm (0.996") in diameter with an overall height, not including the pin, of approximately 3.8mm (0.15").

PELCO^® STEM Imaging Holder

The PELCO^® STEM imaging holder enables STEM imaging in the SEM by using the standard Everhart-Thornley SE detector in the SEM chamber. The standard 3mm TEM grid is placed in the grid holder and located under the scanning beam. The STEM image is created by the adjustable Pt conversion plate which must face the chamber SE-detector. Cost-effective method for STEM imaging by using the existing SE detector in the SEM chamber. The included conductive anti-scatter sleeve, placed between the holder and the SEM pole piece, contains secondary electron from the sample surface and prevents these from being detected; the result is clear STEM imaging. Overall height with anti-scatter sleeve is 37.5mm (1-1/2") and 29.2 (1.15") without the anti-scatter sleeve. Material: vacuum grade aluminum, brass grid holder, platinum conversion plate and conductive plastic.

PELCO^® Universal SEM Sample Holder Set

The PELCO^® Universal SEM Sample Holder Set extends the capabilities of your SEM by offering convenient sample holders for larger or awkwardly shaped samples, multiple samples, cross sections or pre-tilt imaging.
