These 1.4 nm gold conjugates can be used for several different microscopy applications such as pre-embedding and post-embedding EM, labeling ultrathin cryosections, and correlative light and electron microscopy.

There are several advantages to using these small conjugates:

  • They are able to penetrate up to 40 µm into cell and tissue sections;
  • They can reach more antigens which give better labeling;
  • They can be viewed directly in the TEM without silver enhancement;
  • They give minimal background; and
  • They can be enhanced with silver and viewed in the light microscope.
