LARGE INTERIOR VOLUME
The space-saving design of the desiccator dome provides maximum interior clearances,
giving an average of 13% greater interior volume than standard hemispherical domes.
EXTRA-HEAVY WALLS
Clear polycarbonate top and white polypropylene bottom
(clear base is polycarbonate) have extra heavy walls to eliminate the danger of implosion.
This strong, shatterproof desiccator will hold a vacuum of 740mm of Hg (.09MPa) for a
period of 24 hours. Maximum temperature 41°C (105°F).
STOPCOCK WITH PTFE PLUG
The polypropylene stopcock has a PTFE plug which turns easily, allowing a slow,
gentle entrance of air to prevent unnecessary turbulence and specimen damage.
Stopcock handle is high-visibility red. Port accepts 1/4" (6.4mm) I.D. tubing.
Use VRI-2 or Diaphragm Pumping Kit to evacuate the desiccators.
NEOPRENE O-RING
O-ring seal does not require grease, but is not harmed if grease is used. Seal is
unaffected by low temperatures down to 0°C.
POLYPROPYLENE BOTTOM SECTION
Provides excellent chemical resistance and permits the use of incandescent crucibles
with standard size porcelain plates. The base of the all clear version is polycarbonate.
PERFORATED PLATE
Polypropylene plate supplied is 1/8" (3.2mm) thick
with 1/8" diameter perforations for air transfer. Plate rests on the retaining ledge
of bottom section and has a center hole for easy removal. Desiccant needs to be purchased separately.
