Cryo-TEM Supplies
The stainless steel case and foam lining of the SEAL’N FREEZE® Box ensures durability and optimal temperature control for a sub-freezing environment. The attached hinged lid streamlines workflow while protecting your samples from the ambient environment. Its small, compact size ensures easy storage and transport. Either liquid nitrogen or a slurry of dry ice and alcohol may be used for freezing media in the SEAL’N FREEZE® BOX.
The SEAL’N FREEZE® BOX can also be used for the cryogenic freezing of animal tissue samples for use in cryostat sectioning when used with the SEAL’N FREEZE® CRYOTRAY® Molds for convenient hands-free freezing.
Warnings:
Foam dewars provide a neat and handy alternative to heavier vessels or the commonly utilized styrofoam shipping containers. The special foam material is chemically inert and mechanically durable enough to be exposed directly to liquid nitrogen, without leaking or degrading. Patented design makes the foam vessel easier to handle and safer to use than a traditional low profile glass dewar. Because of its lower thermal mass, a foam vessel will cause less liquid nitrogen boiling when it is filled. The foam surface will also accumulate less frost. As a result, less liquid nitrogen is consumed.
Available as 500ml, 800ml and 1400ml Cryo Cups featuring convenient protruding handle, a Tall (1800ml) vessel, and a Mini (130ml) vessel.
The PELCO® Foam Cryo Pitcher provides a convenient liquid nitrogen (LN2) compatible vessel capable of transferring and pouring LN2 accurately with minimal waste or spillage. This is particularly useful for LN2 transfers requiring high precision such as Vitrobot Dewars, Clipping Stations, and small mouthed reservoirs. The easy-grip handle and pour spout makes the foam pitcher easier to handle and safer to use than a traditional low profile glass dewar. The pitcher has a 500ml capacity.
The foam is chemically inert and lightweight while being more robust than common styrofoam pitchers. The material is durable and will not develop leaks or degrade over time from repeated LN2 exposure. Because of its lower thermal mass, the foam pitcher will cause less liquid nitrogen boiling when it is filled and the foam surface will accumulate less frost. As a result, less liquid nitrogen is consumed.
Rigid, single mold polyurethane able to provide superior durability at ultra low temperatures. The insulation properties of the Cryo Compatible Containers are ideal for ice, ice-salt slurries and a variety of low temperature solutionsdown to -80°C (not recommended for use with liquid nitrogen). The well-designed fitted lid keeps evaporation to a minimum yet the recessed knob aids in comfortable removal. The lids are designed to nest under the container for convenient retrieval. Each container has a pour spout for safe and easy waste dispensing.
All Cryo Compatible Containers are a tapered design for convenient stacking and come in four sizes and bold colors to meet a variety of research and clinical laboratory applications.
