Production Specialist


Ted Pella, Inc. is seeking a full-time Production Specialist to join our manufacturing team to assist the production areas as needed, including process incoming stock, expedite stock, utilize business software, and keep inventory organized. This position reports to the Production Manager and Director of Manufacturing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    General

  • Stock incoming materials, using our business software system, SYSPRO.
  • Expedite stock between receiving and production.
  • Report any Stock on Hand (SOH) and SYSPRO quantity discrepancies.
  • Pull required materials and tooling to complete a job and report any shortages or damaged material.
  • Ensure work area is clean and organized.
  • Perform periodic stock counts. Report any documentation discrepancies.
  • Assist all Production Technicians as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Instrument Production

  • Kit and stage job materials and tooling at designated workstations.
  • Upon completion of jobs, collect material bins and tooling and return to proper areas.
  • Label and organize materials bins, tooling and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Lead and Supervisor to determine production staging.
    Small Parts Production

  • Label, weigh, and count product as needed.
  • Process daily orders and back orders as needed or as instructed.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. College course work preferred. General science knowledge is helpful.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in warehouse stockroom, inventory management, receiving and producing component kits.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be proficient with computers. Must have basic level of skill using a recent version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Outlook. Must be able to become proficient at using SYSPRO, the business software system.
  • Must be able to understand oral and written communications, including work instructions, protocols, and customer requirements.
  • Must be able to learn quickly, follow instructions, and accept feedback.
  • Must have good organizational skills, and be dependable.
  • Must have excellent analytical, math and observational skills.
  • Must have good judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, be able to work with others, collaborate on a team, and work independently, as the job duties necessitate.
  • Must be able to speak, read, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be willing and able to grow and improve knowledge of company's products and specialties.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and insurance in order to drive company vehicle back and forth from facilities within .2 miles of each other.

Physical Job Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to sit, stand, walk, see, use arms and hands to hold, feel and manipulate tools, products and equipment. You will be regularly required to bend, reach; and occasionally be required to kneel, crouch, stoop, and climb. Must be able to regularly lift, pull, and push objects that weight up to 10 pounds; occasionally handle heavier items up to 30 pounds.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a laboratory/assembly/manufacturing/warehouse environment, with regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.

Hours:

Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Pay/Benefits:

The hourly salary range is $17.50-$23.74. Pay rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position includes medical, dental, life insurance after 60 days, paid sick time, paid holiday, paid vacation after 90-days, and a 401(k) plan with Company match after 1 year.
